A coup d'etat has taken place in Taeroca! The Armed Forces and the Police, in a joint effort have overthrown the previous government that had kept the country in underdevelopment conditions for centuries.
The provisional government (Governo Provisorio) has launched a modernization program so articulated:

Government and Constitutional Matters: all the power is currently vested in the Revolution Council (or Consilho de le Revolouciona), formed by officers of the Armed Forces and of the Police. The Council has nominated a selected group of Officers to form the Junta (Jounta de le Revolouciona), which is charged to run the Country on a provisional basis. Meanwhile, the Council will elaborate a proposal for a new constitution that may bring the Country to a much higher degree of development. The antiquate structure of corporative state will be dismissed and replaced with more advanced form; as a temporary measure, a socialist regime has been established. All private property has been called by the Government, while personal property will be maintained by the Citizens (see Economy section). The former parliament has been disbanded. As the new constitution will be approved, general elections will be called to form the new parliament. The following guidelines are followed in the preparation of the Constitution: - universal suffrage will be granted, no more discrimination will be made based on the wealth or sex of the citizens; - the Parliament will be elected on the basis of representation of political parties, based on the electoral system that will be approved - all remnants of the former corporative state will be removed and an educational campaign will be launched in order to make Citizens aware of the changes and their new rights; - Religious freedom will be granted; the State itself is secular (does not endorse neither repeal any creed) and will be autonomous from any Church. No member of the parliament will be represented by the clergy; - solidarity among all citizens will be promoted: economy will be market-based, with major instruments to ensure appropriate distribution of wealth and income; - relationship with foreign nations will be fostered and enhanced; help and advice from more advanced nation will be asked for and accepted on a friendly basis. |
The former overseas possessions are proclaimed free and independent; Taeroca will do its best to ensure a non traumatic transition to their new independence.
At present, due to public order needs, some of the (few) political freedoms existing under the previous regime have been suspended, and military discipline has been imposed to large parts of the administration. Both the Consilho and the Jounta will act in order to have this suspension be as brief as possible.
| Economy: all enterprises have been temporally nationalized. The Ministry of Economy runs directly all major enterprises in all industries (agriculture, manufacturing and services); smaller companies and firms will be run directly by their current owner on behalf of the State, which will exercise a strong control on the price levels in order to keep inflation at reasonable rates. The Escudo has been confirmed as national currency. |
The economy of the Nation will be modernized by means of:
- a deep modernization of the Country infrastructure: road, rail and air network will be improved; telecommunications will be brought to an up to date standard;
- introduction of incentives to the creation of modern enterprises in the most advanced technological fields; traditional agricultural production will be valued and appropriately promoted, specifically for high quality typical products
- mass education campaign: education is seen as a means also for the economical development. Illiteracy will be eradicated and a new generation of highly educated and motivated people will be formed;
- closely monitoring of foreign investments will be performed in order to ensure the transparency and absence of money laundering.
| Education: the presence of illiterate fellow citizens is seen as a shame to be overcome as quickly as possible. A mass education campaign will be launched to: |
- eradicate illiteracy in the Country;
- create a new generation of citizens who are cultivated, aware of their social and political rights, ready to face the challenges posed by the modern world.
| Language and racial matters: while the previous regime has always perpetrated the racial discrimination existing among the People with the purpose of imposing an authoritarian rule. The Consilho de le Revolouciona wants the People to feel as one body of citizens, and has decided to adopt Taereotalino as the new official language of the Republic. Taereotalino is an artificial language, based as Tãreoçese and Talinian on Valania, specifically designed by the faculty of the School of Languages at the University of Beja. It is a language that can be easily understood by both groups of the nation and that is very regular and overcomes some of the shortcomings of the two previous official languages. Those two, which are currently spoken in other nation, will be retained in teaching as other foreign languages.While Taereotalino is the only official language of the Republic, dialects will be used on familiar and friendly environments. |
